Sustainability Policy
The key points of its strategy to achieve this are:
- Be leaders in sustainable video production.
- Endeavouring to be carbon neutral by August 2023.
- Will track all emissions through a carbon calculator, with the aim to eliminate any emissions where possible.
- Unavoidable emissions will be offset (at £9 per tonne of CO2 plus VAT) through donating to reputable charities that are regenerative in nature.
- We aim to inform our clients and potential clients of the environmental impact of their project.
Transport:
- Nusa Films will minimise car travel where possible through encouraging crew/client without heavy equipment to use public transport.
- We will look for travel options that are more sustainable, and not fly to locations within the UK.
Spaces:
- The Nusa Films’ office runs on certified green energy.
- Nusa Films will look to shoot in locations that run on certified green energy. If not possible, these emissions will be offset.
Materials:
- Nusa Films will endeavour to buy props and wardrobe sustainably where possible.
- Nusa Films will endeavour to track and offset the carbon used in ordering items online.
Food & biodiversity:
- Nusa Films will aim to encourage clients, cast and crew to order veggie/vegan options.
- Non-dairy milk only used in the office.
- We recognise biodiversity loss as a serious and pressing issue. Where possible we seek to actively improve biodiversity by using probiotic, refillable cleaning products.
Disposal:
- Both in office and on set Nusa Films will aim to recycle as much waste as possible, separating general waste, recycling, and compostable food waste.
- Unused props and wardrobe will be returned or donated.
Resource consumption:
- We monitor resource consumption in our activities and attempt to procure the least impactful options.
Social:
- We invest in carbon literacy - having environmental workshops to educate our staff on the impact of video production on the environment and how to minimise our carbon footprint in our professional and personal lives.
