Video Editor/Motion Designer

We’re looking for a technical and creative video editor/motion designer to join us on our mission in creating the best social-first content on the planet.

This is a midweight hybrid role within our post-production team, combining both video editing and motion design responsibilities. You’ll be working across a wide range of projects from start to finish - cutting dynamic edits, crafting engaging motion graphics, and enhancing overall storytelling through creative visual treatments. You’ll collaborate closely with directors, producers and creatives to bring concepts to life, while helping to maintain a consistently high standard across all deliverables.

  • NUSA STUDIOS is a social-first content studio. We’re an agile team of 16 in-house creatives, producers, shooters and editors. We combine scalable creative ideas with an agile production approach.
  • Founded during the pandemic, we’ve created thumb-stopping content campaigns for some of the world's most recognised brands including Ford, Casio & American Express, as well as a few of the hottest startups & scale ups such as Surreal, Estrid & Lucky Saint.
  • Edit live action footage into ads for various platforms, predominantly for social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) but occasionally including VOD/TV.
  • Understand and execute different video styles with a particular flair for engaging social content.
  • Create and incorporate motion design, animations, and visual effects to enhance videos.
  • Work closely with the creative team to understand project goals, storyboard ideas, and ensure the final product meets the desired quality and objectives.
  • Review and revise content based on feedback, ensuring that all videos meet technical and creative standards.
  • Adapting content to various social media platforms and understanding their respective aspect ratios.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results. Accurately estimate edit times and stick to these allocated timelines.
  • Keep up with the latest video editing and motion graphics trends, tools, and technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Assist senior editors and the creative team in larger projects, providing input and helping with various editing tasks where needed.
    • 3+ years experience as a video editor whether that be in a similar role at an agency, brand or as a freelancer.
    • Proficient Skills in DaVinci Resolve editing software with a strong knowledge of the Colour Grading page and Fairlight page.
    • Proficient in Adobe After Effects is required.
    • Some experience in Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition is a bonus.
    • Strong sense of design, timing, and pacing in video editing. Ability to think creatively and contribute original ideas to projects.
    • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring high-quality output in all aspects of video production.
    • Can work at a fast pace to deliver videos with tight timelines.
    • An ability to troubleshoot technical issues and find creative solutions.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and feedback. A proactive attitude towards personal and professional growth.
    • Experience working with AI-enhanced editing tools (e.g. Firefly, ChatGPT, Generative Fill, etc.) to streamline and supercharge the edit process.
    • A degree in Film, Media Production, Graphic Design, or a related field is a plus but not required.
