Midweight Video Editor

We’re looking for a technical and creative, middleweight video editor to join us on our mission in creating the best social-first content on the planet.

  • NUSA STUDIOS is a social-first content studio. We’re an agile team of 16 in-house creatives, producers, shooters and editors.
  • Founded during the pandemic, we’ve created thumb-stopping content for some of the world's most recognised brands including Ford, Casio & American Express, as well as a few of the hottest startups such as Surreal, Estrid & Lucky Saint.
  • Edit live action footage into ads for various platforms, predominantly for social media (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube) but occasionally including VOD/TV.
  • Understand and execute different video styles with a particular flair for engaging social content.
  • Create and incorporate motion design, animations, and visual effects to enhance videos.
  • Work closely with the creative team to understand project goals, storyboard ideas, and ensure the final product meets the desired quality and objectives.
  • Review and revise content based on feedback, ensuring that all videos meet technical and creative standards.
  • Adapting content to various social media platforms and understanding their respective aspect ratios.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results. Accurately estimate edit times and stick to these allocated timelines.
  • Keep up with the latest video editing and motion graphics trends, tools, and technologies to bring fresh ideas to the team.
  • Assist senior editors and the creative team in larger projects, providing input and helping with various editing tasks where needed.
  • 3+ years experience as a video editor whether that be in a similar role at an agency, brand or as a freelancer.
  • Proficient Skills in DaVinci Resolve editing software with a strong knowledge of the Colour Grading page and Fairlight page.
  • Proficient in Adobe After Effects is required.
  • Some experience in Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, and Audition is a bonus.
  • Strong sense of design, timing, and pacing in video editing. Ability to think creatively and contribute original ideas to projects.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring high-quality output in all aspects of video production.
  • Can work at a fast pace to deliver videos with tight timelines.
  • An ability to troubleshoot technical issues and find creative solutions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and feedback. A proactive attitude towards personal and professional growth.
  • A degree in Film, Media Production, Graphic Design, or a related field is a plus but not required.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous video editing and motion graphics work is required.
